Referral Options & Appointment Types
Find the right way to access online psychology support that works for your life
Medicare Rebated Appointments
You will need a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) referral from any GP you nominate as your primary GP. You can nominate a GP from a bulk-billing or walk-in clinic.
If you’re unsure how to request a referral, our admin team can provide a letter to take to your GP, including instructions for sending the MHCP to us.

Medicare rebates apply to up to 10 sessions per calendar year at $98.95 per session.
Although individuals with an eating disorder can access up to 40 sessions, we currently do not have psychologists with experience in that area.
Private Health Insurance
Many private health insurance funds are covering online, telehealth, psychological appointments. Please contact your private health insurer to determine if you are eligible for online psychological cover. Typically you to not need a referral to use your cover.
The number of sessions an individual can have part of the cost covered varies between health providers. On average, this is around 5 sessions per calendar year. Please contact your health provider to determine how many they cover.
NDIS Plan-Managed and Self-Managed
Graciously You Psychological Services is not NDIS-registered. NDIS funding can only be used if your plan is self-managed or plan-managed.
Sessions covered under NDIS depend on individual funding plans and goals.
Contact your NDIS Plan Manager for details or further assistance.
You may find out more about NDIS funding by visiting the NDIS Psychosocial Disability page.
Privately Funded Appointments
Any individual can self-refer to our service to access support for a range of psychological concerns and symptoms. A referral is not required for private appointments where you pay the entire cost and do not intend to access psychological cover through private health insurance or Medicare rebates.

Common Questions About Telehealth Psychology Appointments
Do I need a GP referral for telehealth psychology?
Yes but only for Medicare-rebated appointments. You need a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHCP). For private pay or NDIS, you don't need a referral. See the accordion above for more information.
Can I get a psychology referral from any GP?
You now need to nominate a regular GP or usual practice to provide your Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHCP) for Medicare rebates. This change promotes continuity of care and ensures your GP can follow up with your treatment progress.
You can choose any GP, including at bulk-billing clinics or walk-in services, and nominate them as your regular provider. Once nominated, they can issue your referral. The nomination process is straightforward and can be done at your first visit.
You do not need to register for MyMedicare to access a psychology referral. Your GP can refer you even if you are not enrolled in MyMedicare. MyMedicare registration is completely voluntary but can help formalise your relationship with your practice. If you prefer paper forms, these are available at your chosen general practice and can be submitted by practice staff on your behalf.
Can I use telehealth services if I'm overseas?
Unfortunately no. Due to our registered psychologist's insurance limitations, we're currently limited to people residing within Australia.
Can I have a longer appointment?
Yes. I offer optional 90-minute appointments in two situations:
Perinatal & Postnatal: If you're pregnant or in the postpartum period, I offer an extended 90-minute initial appointment subject to calendar availability and advance booking ($280, or $181.05 after Medicare rebate). Many women find this helpful when processing birth experiences, postpartum adjustment, pregnancy loss, or complex reproductive health concerns. You won't need to rush through your story or stop and restart in the next session.
EMDR Therapy: If you're doing EMDR work, I can sometimes arrange a 90-minute EMDR session (subject to calendar availability and advance booking). The Medicare rebate remains the same ($98.95), but the full cost is $290. This allows for deeper processing without interruption.
Standard 50-60 minute appointments are also available. Contact our admin team at 0457 427 876 to discuss your specific needs and check availability for extended appointments.
Do you write reports for court or legal purposes?
No, we don't write court or medico-legal reports as our psychologist, Natasha is not trained in those types of specialist report writing.
Can I request a report if I'm an existing client?
Yes. Existing clients can request psychological reports for various purposes. Common requests include ADHD diagnosis assessments, which help with educational accommodations or workplace adjustments. Reports are typically completed within 2 weeks and billed at Australian Psychological Society rates. They are not eligible for Medicare rebates. Contact our admin team to discuss your specific report needs.
